Clothes Hoarder Here

I may or may not have a teeny, tiny, eentsy, weensty problem with shopping.

And I really thought I'd gotten control over this habit of mine.  At least when it comes to my own wardrobe.  Now, first thing I do every time I walk into one of my old haunts, is beeline straight for the little girl section.  Usually I spend so much time looking around for Raegan clothes, I run out of time to browse for myself.

But every once in awhile, I make the time.  And.then.I.buy.

I was reminded of this problem again last night, when I made an outfit consisting of items that I've had in my closet for months...and every piece has.never.been.worn.

Brand new jeans purchased in September?

Check.

Ever been worn?

Nope.

I first showed them to you here and talked about how simple it was to construct an outfit around one statement making piece.  So why have I never worn them?!?!

Because honestly you guys, I love them!  I do!

I love how they're super wide leg, yet hug the top of my legs and bum.  Because I'm petite, and it'd be easy to get lost in their width.

And I keep thinking about how to die for they'll look with platform, 70's style sandals and a tucked in v-neck.

And this outfit works for me too.

So why have I put off putting these on?

Plus, I've done it.  I've found the perfect jeans to wear with my somewhat over the top leopard print wedge booties.

Oh yea, remember these guys?

Remember how I gushed about being so in love with them here?

And then admitted they wouldn't work for the outfit I had been dreaming about, here?

Well, they've been sitting in their box, collecting dust and patiently waiting to make their debut I've been so bummed about them not working in the outfit I had been dreaming of, that I haven't given them another chance.  Shall I now?

I mean, as a shoe, I'm smitten.

But I'm also like three feet tall...and these are a LOT of boot for a short gal like myself.

But with these pants that basically cover them up, allowing just the hint of a peek-a-boo print... they seem perfecto!

And I do have these flats, if I ever want to try and emulate the aforementioned outfit again...

And as for the shirt, it's really nothing special.  And as far as neglected clothes go, it hasn't been in my closet for very long at all...I think I acquired it sometime in December.

Still, I did have to tuck the tags in because I have yet to even consider wearing it seriously enough to take them off.

But I'd totally wear it with this outfit!

And I do like how the cut helps define my shape, proper seaming is a girl's best friend!

If I counted how many clothing items are hanging in my closet or stuffed in my dresser drawers, that still have tags on them, my husband would never let me leave the house with our credit card again.  If I included the pieces whose tags were ripped off with intentions to be worn, and then were tossed aside and forgotten...he wouldn't let me leave the house period.

The moral of my story is: I need to start wearing all of my clothes.

Where do you stand?  Do you find yourself collecting clothes, like me?

    1. It's amazing, isn't it, how you can't stop buying them but can't seem to wear all the ones you have?! It really is like a rock collection or something...takes up just a bit more space though.

  4. The outfit suits you very well, and you should really start wearing those jeans now :-)
Aren't you afraid your hubby will read your blog and see what you've written above about all the items that still have tags on them OR have been tossed aside? ;-)

    1. Yes, I knew he probably would. But I was exaggerating a little bit when I indicated that he wasn't aware of all those tagged items...although, the first thing he said when he walked in the door after work this morning was "I tried commenting on your blog but couldn't from my phone..."

      Uh-oh.

    1. I just don't know! Maybe to leave my house? I've been pretty consistent about rocking the sweats here lately...haven't had much else to do.

    1. Thanks Jackie! Yes I love the shoes too, it's trying to wear them with outfits that they don't overwhelm...if only I were taller!

    1. Ah, thanks Megan! Stacy and Clinton (TLC's what not to wear, duh) might disagree with you...they advise curvy women to get jeans that fit the widest part of their leg and go straight down...to look their sassiest! :)) Their word is gospel to me. lol

  10. Ahhh!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE.. like ridiculously over the top love this outfit. And those wedges.. ohh emm gee!!! Wheneva you get tired of this outfit, you're more than welcome to ship it my way!

But on another note… yes, I have a horrible habit of collecting clothes… and an even worse habit of collecting cowboy boots & heels. Chris thinks I have hoarding tendencies when it comes to by footwear. But really, a girl can NEVA have enough shoes.

Do you have any idea where you go those jeans?! I'm not that petite in the donkadonk area, but I think they'd work for me!

    1. Hahah, thanks Ashley!! I don't know if I'll ever tire of it since I have yet to wear the blasted thing! I picked up these jeans at a great sale at the BCBG outlet store...I couldn't pass them up!

And I totally agree with you about the shoes...it's becoming more of a hobby really. The hubby lets me keep buying em because he just lovessss when I wear heels!!

  12. What a wonderful blog you have! You are gorgeous and I love your entire outfit. So fun! You're lucky you're so petite and can wear such cute heels. I'm 5'9", so I usually keep my heels a little shorter, dang it. ;-)

    1. Ah, thanks Melanie!! So sweet! It's funny, isn't it? I think about how I wish I were tall all.the.time. and you, being tall, say I'm lucky to be short! :)) I do like super high heels though, so I'd definitely tower over everyone!

  13. I definitely find myself hoarding clothes! I have clothes that I have worn maybe once and I have kept them thinking that I will wear them again. I lie to myself a lot. I'll go through my closet to make a goodwill run and I'll end up with 5 items to take. Sometimes I just can't bring myself to get rid of my clothes! It's ridiculous!!!

    1. I am the same way!! In my own defense, I really have worn dresses a couple years (yes, you read that correctly, YEARS) after I've purchased them and it did come in handy...but I find that way too often I buy clothes that are great clothes for a great price with the intentions that someday I'll have somewhere to wear them...a habit my hubby is not thrilled with!
